I had the awesome privilege of spending six weeks in Ocean City, New Jersey for a Cru summer mission where 80 students and 35 staff joined to deepen our walks with Jesus and share the good news of the gospel to the surrounding area! Below are just some highlights from all that God did in those six weeks!

Week 1 we dove right in as we shared our stories with one another and I got to know the 3 girls I would be discipling for the summer. (From left to right: Megan, Me, Reilly, and Liv)

Week 2 we continued to share our faith on the boardwalk using a 5 question survey about faith and spirituality. I modeled for them how to listen well and ask good questions. Liv and Megan were apprehensive at first but soon grew to love it! Below is one of the surveys we used to spark conversations!

Week 3 we talked about the Holy Spirit and his role in our lives. My girls wrestled with how to know when the Holy Spirit was leading you in a certain direction. We had a panel discussion about ethnic identity and the role it plays in our Christian lives.

Week 4 was focused on evangelism with a goal of having 2,424 spiritual conversations in one week! We surpassed our goal and saw 95 people indicate a decision to dedicate their lives to Jesus! The names of those people are in the red circle above! 🙂 

Week 5 I planned and co-hosted a women’s banquet that focused on our identities in Christ. We wrestled with what our lives would look like if we actually lived like we believed who God says we are based on Ephesians 2:6.

Week 6 we focused on the summer mission as a family. We played a kickball game, trained the students to take over our jobs as the staff got ready to leave, and said our goodbyes! I cast vision for Reilly, Liv, and Megan as they continue their walk with the Lord. So bitter sweet!
