Today we went to a small church and led worship in English and Spanish. We met the pastor and his kids and it was an instant connection with everyone! They all welcomed us as we engaged with the kids of the Venezuelan refugees. We were able to connect with each one of the kids and give them a little bit of joy in their hard times. We fed all of the families and when we finished we danced with the Venezuelans and showed them some of our moves.  After lunch, we separated the kids outside and the parents inside, giving the parents a chance to hear the Gospel and hear our leaders’ testimonies.

I chose to stay inside and hear the testimonies since I had already spent so much time with the kids. I listened to our leaders Diana and Freddy speak about their life’s journeys. I saw so much pain in the parents’ eyes as our leaders spoke about the struggles they got through with God’s help.  I got very emotional because even though the Venezuelan families were going through so much they didn’t let it get show in how they acted. They were worried and praying over me because I was crying when I was supposed to be praying over them! Overall, our experience was amazing! I had an instant connection with everyone and I’m so glad I was able to bring a little bit of joy and God’s love to the Venezuelan refugee families.
