Greetings from Brazil!
In our day-to-day routine it’s easy to get caught up in the “busyness” of it all. So many overwhelming needs, prayer matters, physical work, projects, family time, etc that we need to keep our focus on Him. The verse Psalm 46:10 came to mind…..
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10
After studying that verse a little more in depth it’s apparent that it’s more than just a passive suggestion…. “The people of God should interpret the command for themselves to read more like: ‘snap out of it,’ ‘wake up,’ ‘stop fearing’—acknowledge who your God is—be in awe!”
I am acutely aware that HE is in control of our lives, our futures, and even our day-to-day and it is HE who has put us where we are right now doing what we are doing. It boggles my mind that HE chose us to be a blessing in the favela peoples lives, in the midst of the danger, the dirt, to the completely lost and hopeless.
Blessings,
Pete and Jodi
