If I could choose one word to describe this summer it would be “WOW”! The Hip-Hop Catalyst team is in awe of God and the work He has done in the lives and hearts of our students. Angel participated in our after-school program the entire school year. She loved the Hip-Hop classes and activities but she rejected anything we taught her about God.

But last Christmas she put camp on her wish list. She not only got her wish, but she said ‘YES’ to a relationship with Jesus, along with three other Catalyst students that we took to Southwind camp!

Here is an excerpt of a note Angel wrote one of the camp speakers:
“I came to camp very closed off not expecting much, but when you shared your story I was able to open up emotionally and later that night I said ‘yes’ (to Jesus). Thank you for helping an emotionally insecure teen like me see that there’s more to life than just being content, but being happy with God. So thank you and my future self thanks you!”

And we thank all of you who made it possible for 19 middle school students and 26 high school students to go to camp this summer… it really is “where everything changes”!
