Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton Disaster Relief

Florida Baptist Disaster Relief (FBDR): flbaptistdisaster.org has set up a base location and is operating out of Colonial Oaks Baptist Church, 6901 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, Florida.

 

Donations: FBDR is ONLY accepting cash, Gatoraid, #8 inch nails or 2 1/2″ screws.  These are items, which Cleanup & Recovery (CR) teams will use when responding to calls for assistance from homeowners with home and roof damage. They do not have room to store other donated items.  Individuals or church groups who desire to donate food, water, and other relief items should have a contact in the disaster area who would be willing to accept, store, and distribute them.

 

Volunteers: FBDR is in urgent need of credentialed and non-credentialed volunteers:  Volunteers must first register and place themselves on a ROSTER. Anyone desiring to stay overnight must complete a background check. The weblinks are provided below:  It is not recommended to simply show up because there may not be sufficient accommodations, and FBDR prefers to schedule and stagger the arrival volunteers for the several weeks and months ahead of relief work.  Volunteers can only volunteer for no more than one (1) week at a time.
