For Rosemary, Christ Journey Church has been more than a place to attend. It has been where she found her people, her purpose, and her story.

When she first arrived, then known as University Baptist Church, she was searching for two things: an active singles group for herself and a strong youth group for her younger sister. What she found was far more than she expected. She found a vibrant church family, full of opportunities to serve, grow, and build lasting relationships.

She quickly became involved, volunteering across different ministries and investing in the life of the church. Over time, her calling deepened, and she stepped into a staff role as the Singles Ministry Assistant. During those years, Thursday night Bible studies became a cornerstone for many young adults. It was a place to grow in faith, build friendships, and share life together. Alongside that, there were events, trips, and gatherings that created a safe and welcoming space for Christian singles to connect.

It was in that very ministry that Rosemary met her husband, and more than 30 years later, their story is still unfolding.

What began as a search for community turned into something much deeper. The friendships formed during those early years became lifelong bonds. As the saying goes, true friends become family, and for Rosemary, that could not be more true. Together with those friends, they have walked through every season of life.

They raised their two daughters within this church family, watching them form their own friendships and roots. Along the way, a few families became especially close, so much so that their children created a name for their shared bond: the Macruchos, a blend of Macgowan, Ruiz, and Camacho. It became a reflection of the deep, chosen family they built together.

Over the 43 years Rosemary has been part of Christ Journey Church, she has seen many changes. There have been challenges and imperfections along the way, but one thing has remained constant: a foundation built on Jesus Christ. That steady truth has carried her and her family through every season, both difficult and joyful.

Looking back, Rosemary sees a life marked by community, faith, and God’s provision. She is grateful that God led her to this church, where she found not only a place to belong, but a place to grow, serve, and build a life centered on Him.

As the church celebrates 100 years, Rosemary and her family look ahead with expectation, trusting in all that God still has in store. A legacy has already been built, and they believe the best is still to come.
