For Liz, Christ Journey Church represents restoration, a place where God turned brokenness into something whole again.
From the very beginning of her relationship with her husband, they shared a clear desire: to build a home centered on God. Together, they created a beautiful blended family of eight and made it a priority to bring their children to church, believing that showing up together would keep their family strong and united.
For a time, it seemed like enough.
But slowly, without realizing it, they drifted from their walk with the Lord. Life became busy, heavy, and overwhelming. They began relying on their own strength, and eventually, everything around them started to crumble.
After nine years of raising six children full time, the weight of it all became too much. Liz and her husband separated for an entire year. It was one of the most painful seasons they had ever faced, filled with loss, loneliness, and deep heartbreak.
It was in that valley that everything changed.
In her lowest moments, Liz cried out to God and made a promise. If He would restore her family, she would never stop sharing His goodness. She committed to being a witness to His faithfulness, declaring that He never leaves us, even when we walk away from Him. She vowed that her family would give Him all the praise and all the glory, always.
And God answered.
By His grace, healing came. Restoration followed. What once felt broken was made whole again.
Today, Liz and her family are reunited, stronger in their faith and filled with gratitude. They now live with open hearts, ready to serve however and wherever God leads. Whether in their home, at church, or in their community, they seek to follow Him faithfully, knowing firsthand the power of His redemption.
As Christ Journey Church celebrates 100 years, Liz’s story stands as a testimony of hope. A reminder that no situation is beyond God’s reach, and that even in the darkest seasons, He is working to restore what feels lost.
Her promise still stands.
