Baptism
Baptism is a physical act declaring a deep spiritual truth - your union with the risen Christ.
Why do we baptize?
In Matthew 28:19, we read that Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples and baptize them.
Jesus himself was baptized (Matthew 3:16-17), and the practice was continued by New Testament churches (Acts 2:41, 8:36-38, 9:18, 10:48).
Why we baptize by immersion?
The literal meaning of the greek word “baptidzo” is to immerse. Baptism by immersion symbolically portrays the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In your baptism, you are identifying with Christ who died in your place and rose for your justification.
Once you have trusted Jesus in the forgiveness of sins and received the gift of Salvation, you are ready to declare it by baptism.
It is an act of obedience and in this act you give public testimony to your trusting Christ as Savior and following Him as Lord.
Where do we baptize?
We baptize in water deep enough to go under and be lifted from. We baptize at our physical campuses regularly or in the ocean (typically twice a year).
